THE DESIGNERS:
Kawamura-Ganjavian

Ostrich Pillow was designed for Studio Banana THiNGS by design duo kawamura-ganjavian. Key Portilla-Kawamura and Ali Ganjavian met in London in the late 1990’s while they were both studying architecture. Their design studio, Studio KG, is currently based in Madrid and Lausanne with outposts in Brussels, London and Paris.
kawamura-ganjavian have taught at the Istituto Europeo di Design, the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and currently teach at the EPFL School of Architecture in Lausanne and the IE Architecture and Design School in Madrid/Segovia. They have participated in international exhibitions, workshops and conferences in prestigious institutions such as MoMA New York, La Triennale di Milano, Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella, Tokyo Designers Week, Boisbuchet Summer Workshops, Strelka Institute Moscow and LABoral Art Center, Gijon.
Work by Studio KG has received international critical acclaim and published in both magazines and books globally.
